MANUFACTURED HOMES BEING BUILT BY SIOUX TRIBE

In Rosebud, South Dakota the local Sioux tribe is resolving its problem with housing shortage by becoming builders themselves.

On Tuesday, tribal officials unveiled a high-tech plant where homes are being built for the local reservation.  The facility they are using, owned by the tribe’s Ojinjintka Housing Development Corporation, has enough space to build 48 homes for low-income families and employs several tribal members.

DIRTY WATER FRUSTRATING PARK FALLS RESIDENTS

Arundel Mobile Home Park in West Falls, Idaho has been under a boil water alert since May and the residents have had enough!

The park is located next to the Spokane River which has caused the private water system to become contaminated with river algae.  The residents have been boiling or buying their drinking water for three months.

Sales of Manufactured Homes on the Rise

Due to today’s economy, manufactured home sales continue to rise.  Especially in the state of Texas, where manufactured home sales in the past six months have gone up nearly a quarter.

Because manufactured home sales are up, traditional home sales are slow.  Housing agents have not yet decided if this is a sign of a good economy or a bad one.  Many of their costumers want to downsize their payments for housing, but keep the same amount of space.  To do so, they are turning to manufactured homes.

Kentucky Mobile Home Park Sizzles With No Electricity

Mosby’s Point Mobile Home Park in Florence, Kentucky has no electricity. And it will be a while until they get it back. Meanwhile, the residents are left to cope with excessive heat and no air-conditioning.
